Performing Arts
Cook offers a variety of opportunities for students to express themselves through the performing arts. During the school day, music classes provide the opportunity to learn both vocal and instrumental music as well as dance, and movement classes also include units that explore a diverse range of dance styles. Both provide concerts and showcase events for students to share their learning with family and friends.
Our After School Adventures program often offers a variety of courses including private music instruction, various dance styles, improv, and musical theater. All of these align with Cook’s commitment to developing confidence in public speaking and presentation skills.
Annual Middle School Musical
The pinnacle of Cook’s performing arts program is the Annual Middle School Musical, providing students in 5th-8th Grades the opportunity to participate in both acting and crew roles. For months, students rehearse acting, singing, dance, and technical abilities for a children’s theatre production in the spring. Participants offer a preview performance for students at a Friday All-School Assembly, in addition to evening and matinee performances for families and friends.
