The Thatcher Swanson Grant for Diversity and Inclusion
As we continue to make diversity, equity, and inclusion a priority, Catherine Cook has presented the Thatcher Swanson Grant for Diversity and Inclusion as its Paddle Raise for our Annual Galas in 2018, 2020, and 2021. For our 23rd Annual Gala, we announced an exciting partnership with the Thatcher James Swanson Memorial Foundation which secured funding for one student to attend a full 11 years at Catherine Cook.
Catherine Cook strives to grow a school population that reflects the community and city in which we live. A more diverse school community composed of people from many backgrounds and experiences is a richer place for inquiry, learning, and empathizing.
Families who demonstrate significant financial need and identify with an underrepresented group in our school population (including race, ethnicity, religion, physical ability, sexual identity, or gender identity) can apply at any grade level and receive the Grant for all subsequent years they continue to qualify. Recipients of the Grant receive:
- Full tuition
- Extended Day (after school care until 6:00 p.m.)
- School lunches
- Stipend for After School Adventures and athletics (extra curricular activities)
- Funding toward materials, technology, supplemental learning, and additional programming that supports participation in all that Cook offers
Additionally, funds support curriculum, parent education, and professional development. The number of new recipients we can support is dependent on funds raised.
Below are our Paddle Raise donor rolls from 2018, 2020, and 2021. Thank you so much for your generosity.
