Spring Trimester 2024 Athletics Opportunities

GIRLS SOCCER
Girls Soccer is a Varsity sport available for 5th through 8th Grade students. Depending on interest, we may have a Varsity team or both a Varsity and a Junior Varsity team. It’s coached by Sara Ahmed and Kathy Gilmore. Most games will be after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays with practices Mondays after school from 3:30-5:00 p.m. and Wednesday mornings from 7:00-7:45 a.m. The first practice will be Wednesday, March 13, and the first game will be Tuesday, March 26.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL
Boys Volleyball is available for 5th through 8th Grade students. Depending on interest, we may have a Varsity team or both a Varsity and a Junior Varsity team. Volleyball is coached by Josh Rosenberg and Chris McDaniel. Games will usually be on Tuesdays and Thursdays and practice will be on Monday mornings from 7:00-7:45 a.m. and Wednesdays from 4:30-6:00 p.m. If we end up having two teams, we may add a Monday afternoon practice. The first practice will be Monday, March 18, and the first game will be Tuesday, April 2.

TRACK CLUB AND TRACK MEETS
Track Club is an ASA available for all Middle School students. Coached by Eddie Pryce and Malcolm Scott, Track Club takes place from 3:30-5:00 p.m. on Mondays starting March 25. In addition to the Monday workouts, there will be several track meets in which students, whether in Track Club or not, will be able to participate. Information regarding track meets will be sent from Coach Pryce. Registration for Track Club is in the Spring Auxiliary Programs section of the registration page.

CAMS LEAGUE GOLF TOURNAMENT
We’re looking forward to offering another Golf Tournament this spring. These typically take place in late April or May. We do not have a dedicated golf team or club, but we’ve been able to offer this as a one-day afternoon tournament the past two years. More details to come.

Additional Information

Registration Fees
We have increased the registration fee to $225 per athlete per season. This will help offset the rising cost of rentals, equipment, transportation, referees. We also will purchase some spirit gear for students participating in Athletics and hold a sports banquet at the end of the season.

Schedule
Please click here to view the Athletics calendar. Schedules will also populate in the portal once you have signed up for a sport.

Transportation
Buses are scheduled to take teams to their venues on game days and practices, when applicable. The bus is available for students to ride back to the school after a game if they do not go home with a parent/guardian.

Uniforms
Your child(ren) will be issued a jersey at the beginning of the season. It is their responsibility to launder and bring that jersey to each game of the season. We will expect the uniforms back in a timely manner at the end of the season and will invoice $25 per item that is not returned.

Playing time
Playing time will be up to the discretion of the coach and may vary between sports and teams. It will not be equal. You can expect coaches to try to get every player in every regular season game, unless there is a lesson to be learned or a discipline issue. Playing time discrepancies will be larger on Varsity than for Junior Varsity teams. 5th Grade students can practice, but may have separate, developmentally appropriate events.

Code of Conduct
We expect our players, coaches, fans, and referees to always exhibit sportsmanship and respect. Players’ behavior in school and in the classroom can have consequences related to Catherine Cook athletic teams. In addition, players must also maintain a grade higher than a 70 in all classes to be eligible to play.
