High School Placement
Every year, Catherine Cook graduates are accepted into some of the most competitive public and private high schools throughout the Chicagoland area and across the country. Our students are sought after for their strong academic preparation and fine character. The enriched curriculum, leadership opportunities, and co-curricular activities that Catherine Cook students enjoy during their Middle School years provide a solid foundation for rigorous college preparatory work and the personal skills needed for success in years to come.
Secondary school placement is an invested process involving one-on-one counseling and an individualized approach to finding the right next step for each 8th Grade student. Starting in 7th Grade, we work to assist each family in building a list of appropriate schools for their child, and personalized admission plans guide families through the testing, visiting, and application process for each school on their list.
The goal is to find the school that is the right fit for each student's interests, ambitions, abilities, and values.
The goal is to find the school that is the right fit for each student's interests, ambitions, abilities, and values; there is no one "best school," but there is a school that is best for every student.
In addition to regular admissions counseling sessions for 7th and 8th Grade families, Catherine Cook hosts an annual High School Night in October for students and families, which is attended by representatives from Chicago's premier independent schools, highly selective public high schools, and faith-based schools, as well as boarding schools from more than fifteen different states.
