Computer Science Curriculum
The intentionally and thoughtfully developed purpose of teaching Computer Science at Catherine Cook School is to build the thinking dispositions and concrete skills students need to write computer code. From hands-on games and tools to text-based coding in later grades, our students have access to a variety of ways to show computational thinking and express their ideas with code. In all Computer Science classes, Catherine Cook students experience differentiated lessons, practice collaborating with peers, and learn coding strategies than broaden thinking. This subject adds a new and dynamic facet to progressive, liberal arts education, and empowers students to use new ways to engage with the world around them.
