Assemblies

Hero

Frequently named as a favorite tradition among community members, our weekly Friday All-School Assemblies provide a time for the whole school to come together in celebration of learning.

Students are able to share about a special project or unit of study, showcase their musical or artistic talents, enjoy an interactive experience with a guest visitor, and provide highlights about after school activities and athletics. It is an excellent way for students to practice their public speaking skills for a large audience as well as for audience members to practice their audience etiquette skills.

Recent Friday Assemblies have included:

ROARS Assembly

Our first All School Assembly of the year brought our community together to learn how to be a ROARSy student. Through our student speakers and crowd participation, we discussed ways to be Respectful, take Ownership, show Appreciation, have Responsibility, and prioritize Safety.

Cook Book Awards Assembly

During our 10th Annual Cook Book Awards, students read a wide range of books in Library enrichment, passionately voted on which ones they believed should receive awards in a variety of categories, and excitedly celebrated the winners during an electrifying assembly that had the whole school cheering for books. To end the assembly, several of the authors and illustrators of the books submitted personalized messages and videos thanking our students for their award.

Fine Arts Assembly

In our most recent Fine Arts Assembly, students showcased an array of artistic expression and collaboration. We enjoyed watching our students' musical performance, spoken word poetry, dance, artistic videography, and live painting. A special thank you to our Art, Music, and Movement teachers for helping our students shine!

Annual MLK Day Assembly

During our Annual MLK Day Assembly hosted by Middle School Students, we celebrated the 60th anniversary of "The Freedom Summer Project" of 1964. Students read historical letters, performed spoken word, sang and danced, educated our community, and submitted artwork to honor the legacy of Dr. King and the Civil Rights movement.
