The Executive Committee comprises the Board Co-Chairs, Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, and an At Large member. The committee meets prior to each Board Meeting and is led by the Co-Chairs. The Executive Committee reviews upcoming Board Meeting agendas and serves as a sounding board for the Head of School.
The Governance Committee meets monthly and is responsible for identifying and nominating internal and external candidates to serve as trustees or serve on the Board of Trustees' committees/task forces. The committee also supports current trustees by providing on-boarding, mentoring, and education.
The Head Support and Evaluation Committee meets monthly with the Head of School and is responsible for supporting the Head in his work for the school. They gather information, in a variety of ways, about the Head’s performance. The Head submits a comprehensive annual self-evaluation and meets with the committee to discuss the accomplishment of current goals and to set annual goals for the coming year.
The Finance Committee meets monthly throughout the school year to review the school’s monthly financial statements, key performance indicators (KPIs), and other updates from the Head of School and Chief Financial Officer. They are also responsible for collaborating with the Head of School and CFO to prepare the school’s annual budget. The full Board reviews and approves the annual budget in December/January of the prior school year. Catherine Cook’s fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30 beginning in 2025.
The Diversity Committee concerns itself with aspects of increasing diversity within the school community. Groups within the school community are families, students, employees, and Trustees. Sub-committees this year will be Admission, Program, and Affinity Groups. The Diversity committee meets four times during the school year.
The Advancement Committee meets monthly and is responsible for supporting the Head of School and Advancement Office in fundraising cultivation and the development of fundraising plans and policies that are in line with the mission and values of the school.
