Summer Conversations on Racism, Privilege, and Allyship
The unnecessary recent deaths of Black/African American people in the U.S., and the protests and unheard voices that followed, continue to be painful reminders of the change we all need to help make in this world. If you are seeking to engage and learn more about how to be an ally or how to make sense of racism and privilege, please join Dr. Brogdon and Motoko Maegawa, our new Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, this summer to participate in readings and conversation.
We will be meeting on the following Tuesday evenings from 5:30-6:45 p.m.: July 21, July 28, and August 18. Our initial meeting will be a conversation around So You Want to Talk About Race by Ijeoma Oluo. For the second and third meetings, we will be using additional readings, videos, and/or podcasts as the foundation for our conversations. Participants are welcome to join all three discussions or a single event as they are able.
Please complete the form below to express your interest in participating.
