Parent/Guardian SEED

SEED (Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity) is a peer-facilitated, year-long personal and professional development opportunity that centers growth in equity and inclusion practices. At Catherine Cook, SEED supports participants exploring and employing tools that will help them to see, interrupt, and dismantle social systems of inequality in our school community and beyond. SEED is a wonderful opportunity to connect with other parents/guardians across grade levels, identities, and families.

Each SEED session is centered around an element of identity where participants are encouraged to actively engage in conversation sharing their lived experiences and listening to others do the same. Because each session builds off the last, participants are expected to attend all sessions for the full school year. If you know you will have to miss more than one session, please consider signing up next year.

SEED is for anyone who has not previously participated in or completed a SEED experience at Catherine Cook or another institution. SEED sessions for 2023-2024 will meet from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. on the following Tuesdays: October 3, October 17, November 14, December 5, January 23, February 13, March 5, March 19, and April 2.

Ultimately, SEED is most effective when its membership reflects the diversity of our community. Your voice is welcomed and valued. Please indicate your commitment to joining SEED this year by signing up on this form before the end of day Friday, September 22.

Please reach out if you have further questions. You can learn more about National SEED at their official website, NationalSEEDProject.org.
