I missed the deadline for registration. Can I still sign up?

Yes, if the class is still available. Email bstrom@ccookschool.org to secure a place and send in payment before the class starts. Requests after late registration ends (see dates above) will be assessed a $50 fee per request. This policy is to encourage enough time to process registration, notify teachers, produce class attendance and coordinate student transitions to and from their After School Adventure.

I need to make a change to my registration. Can I do that online?

Not at this time. Email bstrom@ccookschool.org to make a change. Changes are free of charge through the end of late registration (see dates above). Any changes after this final deadline will incur a $50 processing fee. Just remember- the change you want may not be available as class cancellations occur at the regular registration deadline.

How does my student get to class? What if they are in PS or JK?

  • Students are picked up from school dismissal locations and brought to their ASA class location after school by their ASA teacher.
  • Mid-day classes for PS & JK students work the same way and are brought to their ASA locations in a coordinated effort between classroom teachers and assistants who are equipt with a schedule for each day of the week. PM students should be brought by their parent to the class meeting location or to the classroom directly (directions will be posted).
  • If a class starts later than 3:15 p.m., students will be brought to Extended Day for free until class time begins. Preschool students who are dismissed at 2:30 p.m. will go to Lunch Bunch for free while they relax, play and wait for their ASA teacher to pick them up from that location.
Can my PM student in PS or JK take a mid-day class?

Absolutely! Lunch is obviously the biggest question in terms of mid-day classes for PM students. Traditionally, we've recommended that students eat something at home before coming, enjoy a small snack in their ASA class, and bring something with more protein to have in their regular classroom afterward or during snack time. There is not time or space for a traditional lunch-time for PM students who choose to take a mid-day class. If this is something that is a concern for your child's routine, consider taking ASA classes at 3:00 p.m. We continue to have many PM students who enjoy the mid-day classes so it's really up to the family to decide what is best for their child. If you'd like to speak with other PM parents who have negotiated this successfully, email Blaire Strom for contact information.

When is my credit card charged?

Your credit card will not be charged until after the registration deadline. Once class lists are finalized, your credit card will be charged, usually not until or after the first week of class.

What happens if my class doesn't run?

The majority of classes need a minimum of five students to run. If we do not get enough students by the deadline, you will be contacted and offered another choice. If you do not wish to elect another option, your credit card will not be charged.

What happens if the class I want is full?

Please contact Blaire Strom at bstrom@ccookschool.org to be put on the waiting list.

My child decided that she/he doesn't like the class. Can I get a refund?

Once a class has started, teachers have been paid and materials have been bought. We normally do not give refunds past the first week of class, and in these cases, a $50 cancellation fee will be assessed. Exceptions will be made for students who are deemed too young for a class (i.e. a younger JK student in karate or a PS student in a mid-day class who has not adjusted to school yet). Please make good choices and double-check your family calendars.

We don't have school next week.  Will my class be made up?

Class fees have taken into account all school breaks and days off. If a teacher misses a class, she or he will make the class up during each sessions make-up week, which follows directly after the end of a session (see calendar above). If a student misses a class, he or she can request some take-home materials from the missed class upon their return. Teachers are not obligated to hold a make-up class unless it is for their own absence.

Please Note:  You can now bring a credit card into the Business Office where we will keep the number in a secure file.  Then for all future orders you can select an option for us to charge the card for which we have the number on file.
