Susan Lovejoy, Chair of Board
Susan Lovejoy joined the CCS Board as a Trustee in 2006 and played a key role in the school's strategic planning process in 2006-07. For twelve years, she was co-owner and co-director of Educator's Ally Inc., an independent school placement service for teachers and administrators in the Northeast. She has deep knowledge of independent schools, having taught at Greenwich Academy in Connecticut and serving as Admissions Coordinator at Hathaway Brown School in Ohio for five years. A product of independent schools herself, she attended Lake Forest Country Day School and Milton Academy, going on to earn a degree in government from Smith College and an M.A. in human services/counseling from John Carroll University in Ohio. She served on the Board of Directors of Planned Parenthood of Westchester/Rockland Counties (NY) for six years. In addition to her involvement with The Catherine Cook School, she has been an active research assistant in the ape house at Lincoln Park Zoo since moving to Chicago in 2005.
