Student Support Services
The mission of the Student Support Services (SSS) is to provide academic and other support services that assist students in reaching their academic and developmental potential. CCS strives to promote a nurturing community for students to become independent learners, to become self-aware, and to maximize their unique talents.
Who are the members of the Student Support Services team?
What is the Learning Specialist's role?
- Provide academic support to students referred by their classroom teachers
- Provide remedial and enrichment instruction on a one-to-one basis, in small groups or through in-class support
- Consult and collaborate with teachers and parents as indicated
- Observe students with identified concerns in their classrooms
- Conduct academic screening when indicated
- Provide referrals to professionals in the community
What is the School Counselor's role?
- Provide individual and family support to students referred by their classroom teachers
- Consult and collaborate with teachers, learning specialists, administration, and professionals
- Observe students with identified concerns in their classrooms
- Provide crisis intervention
- Conduct KidsKonnect groups to address specific needs
- Provide parent education and support
- Provide referrals to professionals in the community
