Tuition

An independent school education is an investment in excellence.  The following schedule of tuition and fees has been approved by the Board of Trustees for the 2010-2011 school year.

PLUS : $3,500 Admission Assessment, a one time per family assessment

Tuition charges include school-issued laptops for use in the classroom for Grades 1-4, and for use in the classroom and home for Grades 5-8, yearbook costs, student photographs, Parent Association membership, a copy of the school directory, textbook rentals, workbooks, most lab and field-trip expenses, and signature trips in the Middle School.  Families are responsible for purchasing school supplies. The school reserves the right to charge additional fees as necessary throughout the year.

Tuition alone does not cover the cost of educating a student at The Catherine Cook School.  Like all independent schools, Catherine Cook conducts annual fundraising programs that contribute to the operating budget and help to cover the gap between actual operating expenses and tuition revenue.  At Catherine Cook we have two annual fundraising programs; the annual giving campaign for The Catherine Cook School Fund and the Spring Benefit.  All parents and guardians are expected to participate in both these fundraising programs each year.

Tuition Refund Policy and Plan
The school does not refund tuition under any circumstances unless the family has paid in advance for tuition refund insurance under the Tuition Refund Plan. The cost of the plan is 4.5% of required tuition and fees. Plan documents are enclosed when enrollment contracts are issued and are also available from our Business Office or the Office of Admission. The deadline for plan enrollment falls in mid-September. Parents and guardians should refer to the plan documents regarding the required number of attendance days and percentages of refund.
